I am looking to lower my 97 Se of course i am lookin @ the Eibach and H&R springs. Firstly, does anyone have these where they did not replace the factory shocks? Secondly i heard that the H&R springs work better with the factory shocks Is this correct? Thirdly I know there have been many a discussion about this but.i would like to know who has what springs and what they like about em?

Never thought I'd be the one to say it, but man, please do a search on this topic. I answered so many suspension quiestions today only, using a search feature will give you loads of info.
I have H&R springs which are considered to be more comfy than Eibachs. Lowering springs do not work better with stock shocks. Your shocks will not last long, so my advice to you, get new shocks as well (Koni, Tokicos, KYB).
If you want comfortable and sporty ride then go with H&Rs, if you want the ride to be stiffer get either Eibachs or Sprints.

I have the Eibach/Tokico combination. It's definitely harsher than my old cushy GLE ride.

The better handling, cornering and reduced fendergap more than make up for it though!

Hope this helps and good luck.

Definetly worth it to start, I had the H&R's put on a reasonably new Maxima...about 18k miles and have had no problems at all. I like the drop without slamming and the response in curves is noticeable.

I talked to the guy from tire rack today and he said i didn't have to get the new struts cause i only have 31,000miles on the car so saves me some loot. I decided to go with the H&R springs
