silverstars bad in the rain

It seems the general consensus is that the Silverstars provide poor visibility in the rain (and snow) which I can attest too. However, isn't it during these kind of conditions that you would want to have better visibility? Most of my time around the car is spent inside looking outwards. Personally, I don't really care what my lights look like, I'd rather see better in poor conditions, when it really counts.

I've been using Xtravisions for a day now after using Silverstars for a while and it's been raining, all I can say is wow, I can see! I would like to know however, if anyone has tried GE Nighthawks? I saw them when I was picking up my Xtravisions, and my mechanic has them on his truck, he swears by them, they're a non-coated high output bulb like the Xtravision, I'd just like to know how they compare, at our local WalMart, they're a bit more than the Xtravisions but still cheaper than the Silverstars at 26.50 a pair opposed to the Silverstars 39.00 a pair

the only reason why the white light sucks in the rain is because the color disperses when it is wet unlike they yellow.

I just didn't care for the fact that the lighting sucks in the rain with my SilverStars, I do, however, still love my SilverStar signal lighting, nice and relatively invisible, but it lights a nice bright legal amber... but they're godawful expensive.

I've had people notice my silverstars. They look alot better than oem to me. I've also had mine for 8 months or so with no problems yet. I don't have trouble seeing in the rain either. They are too expensive though.

the right looks better, the left was what my silverstars looked like, both heads and fogs.

My silverstars lasted a year before one of them blew...the color is much whiter than stock both on the ground and looking at the car from the outside. My friend had some on his Avalon and they looked much more noticeable than on my car...much crisper white with a slight hint of bluish no idea why.

The big problem with Silverstars is the inconsistancy in lifespan, color, brightness, and match between the two bulbs, unexcusable considering the price...

I have had 9004 9007 and now H4 headlight bulbs. 9004 in stock halogen, xtravision, silverstar and hyperwhite... all 9004 suck IMO. Had 9007 xtravision, better than all of those 9004. And my friend had PIAA 9004s...looked nice, sucked in rain. Now I have H4 silverstars and I think they are better than all those other ones. I've never had issues with any bulbs blowing out early either. They arent great in rain, but I think they are better than normal halogen bulbs on dry pavement any day.

I had Silverstars and only lasted me 6 months $40; had Piaa Extreme white and lasted me about 2 years $60; they both look nice, bright and white but only while looking at headlights but they are overprice garbage on putting light on the road; I was like driving without headlights at night and every car next to mine with stock yellowish lights had twice the light output on the road; so then I did the 9007 bulb conversion 55 watts of instead 45 watts from 9004 (thanks to JSUTTER and other guys who contribuited); got Xtravisions $20 and ntbk wire harness from ebay $31.94 and seems like almost double the light output on the road. Light is yellowish but who cares as long as I can see the road at night. I wasted so much money on blue useless overprice bulbs that if had save the money will have enough by now to buy HID bi-xenon projectors, bulbs, ballast, igniters, and retrofit my headlights. If you see these blue bulbs better than old ones on the road is because halogen bulbs when older loose light output, so any new bulb will look better.

ok, i need some help on this. I have been looking to replace my crappy stock headlights, ricey blue-tinted cornerlights, and my fogs, but i dont know what to replace them with. I think i remember reading something about "Helios" kits or bulbs from one of the group deals, maybe if someone could explain the difference between these bulbs and the others? thanks in advance.

helios kit is HIDs, which is what i bought from maximabest in his group deal. your looking at like 275 as opposed to 50 bucks for a pair. but with HIDs, you will have them much longer than halogen bulbs. they are best when used with projectors, but beat any halogen bulbs night or day, rain or sleet.
