LOL. dude, are you not reading what people are saying to you? spray some stuff on there to loosen them up, and do it yourself, or have a fellow chicago orger do it for you.

dude...I think it's you who's not reading what I said. It's already done. I will be taking it off this weekend with the help of a fellow orger.

Either way, no matter how f'ing good your friend is, if the cat screws are too rusted, you MUST, absolutely MUST get them off at a shop, unless you got a freakin heat torch, which 99.9% of people do NOT.

Sometimes they go, sometimes they don't.

Same for me...

Yea, when I had mine put in they also said it was illegal because they would be taking out the catilitic converter, which isn't true. I ended up getting mine done at Midas for $100. But just do it yourself, it's not that hard. I would've done mine myself but one of the bolts was stripped. So I recommend doing it yourself.

It is illegal. The federal law states that it is illegal to replace any properly funtioning catalitic converter. Our y-pipe has 2 pre catalitic converters.

Where do you live , I have muffler shop in Waukegan that will replace your rusty cat bolts for around $10 ( at least that is what they charged me 2 years ago)

its on the corner of route 120 and Green Bay rd

oh, man. There is no reason a chicago area member should have any problem gettting a y-pipe installed. We have many guys who will do that for you.

That is not too far off, a little steep though. Headers are just a weee bit more work than a y-pipe. The shop I used to work at had them at 8hrs labor. I did mine myself and would never do it again.
