New Wine . . Electrical or Alternator?

Sadly I have this very bad wine going on with the car. And I'm need some help pin pointing what the culprit is.

I hear this very loud whine that is reminicent of a turbo spooling but more anoying and higher pitch, it occurs when I accerlate only, if I clutch in and rpms fall whining doing reduces then is gone.

Only change with my car was I went and had my DVD screen/new headunit installed in my car, at first install was good but when driving blew a fuse some how, took it back today and they fixed it but since then I've been hearing this annoying whine. Can it be electrical due to the install they did or could it be alternator or something else?

I also poped the hood and revved the car and didnt hear the noise from under the hood, but when I got in the car and revved I could hear it easy.

thanks

if it is the altenator it should go away after you rev the engine a couple of times. sounds like bad ground

I was thinking maybe a bad ground, but not too sure.

But wouldnt a bad ground cause the whole unit/screen to not even power up?

still I'm going to pop up back by that shop for the 3rd time in a row.

Also My atenna goes up when I'm playing CDs/MP3 cds/DVDs this shouldnt be for an aftermarket CD unit correct? Should I address this to them? or is the atenna a diofficult thing to control with an aftermarket unit?

your tv will still play with bad grounds but theres a chance you could blow it. make sure you grounded it correctly. my sub used to make whining noises with bad grounds. btw my boys car made loud *** whining noises with his tv, seem his altenator grounds were bad.

thank you for the info, I think they had an issue getting a good ground at first, and a fuse blew.

they said they put a bigger fuse in to fix the problem, I'm going to ask them to check the ground and such because I shoudnt be hearing this loud *** whining it was worrying me quite a bit.
