HIDs are legal as long as they are ~4300k, which is factory output.

all aftermarket HID kits are illegal. 4300K kits fall under this category and therefore is illegal. infact, its even illegal to retrofit projectors that came from other legal cars like bmws. it is illegal if your car didn't come with HIDs from the factory or does not have an option for HID from the factory. a cop can spot glare and purple 8000K kits easily but you have a good chance of getting by the cop with projectors.

yes it is illegal. if your car doesnt have the option from factory to have hid's, then you cant have them. It is illegal to install HID without vertical aim control.

He knows what he's talking about.

That's why I stuck with the factory 4100/4300k D2S bulbs. Everything looks factory and we dont have state inspection out here.

I'll honestly tell you now, unless you're gonna use cefiro housings with a Hi/Lo HID kit, don't use HIDs without projectors.

I would like to do this project, but I don't have the time to do it. Moreover, I don't really trust myself with the dremel and getting things to fit properly. I wish I had know this before buying the 6000K HIDs from the group deal on here. I hardly get high beamed by oncoming traffic, but every once in a while, I get flashed. Should I just aim my headlights a bit lower for now? I so wish they came out with projector headlights for our generations.

Any HID either kit: (bulbs and ballasts) or the real one: (projectors, bulbs, ballasts) are illegal if they are not available from dealer for your car period. The want to be HID kits are impossible to aim light to hit the road and they go all over the place blinding upcoming traffic and cars in front of you because the reflectors of our cars weren't made for that bulb pattern at all and is most likely for you to get tickets as per cops will notice you right away, specially with the stupid colors they sale: 6000K, 7000K, 8000K, 9000K, blue, purple, pink, etc... The guys that put/retrofit real HID projectors that come out of expensive cars are able to aim light the right way and won't blind people, besides are white color under 5000K. But again either way can get you a ticket. You can fight ticket but will have to prove that are no blinding people, that you really need more light on the road, are aim properly, etc...
Either setting is illegal to sell; the only way they are selling and advertising it is by saying in fine printing only for OFF ROAD USE or FOR OEM USE ONLY, so you can't suit the seller for using them in regular roads. Very smart ehh?
I am saving really hard to retrofit the real HID.

wow.. its pretty illegal.. but alot of things are...

however.. if u wish to use hid.. and dont want to retro projector... might i recommend getting the cefiro1 piece... then buying or making a shield to ptu the HID bulb in..

then ull hhave a cutoff and also it keepf from pissing of on-comming traffic... also you can put in a small hole sufficent for a foglight bulb or something in teh lower part of the housign to preserve teh High beam function... and teh cefiro lights are sexaay..

make an offer for my projectors and there urs.. = ) .. a good offer that is.. caus ei wanna get the smoked ceifros... and do what i stated above for myself..

im getting tierd of projectors... = \ ...
