should i stay away from used parts?

I need a y pipe desperatley because mine is cracked so badly. I've considered getting the custom enterprise ypipe but the price was just jacked to 300. A friend is parting out his 95 and he has a warpspeed y pipe. i'm considering that but i was just wondering if i should be cautious or even just stay away. any input is good! thanx!

I don't see why you wouldn't buy a used Y-pipe if it's in reasonable shape. Have you ever checked out the cost of replacing the OEM y-pipe? The cost would startle you. Someone was looking for one on the Canada forum a few months ago and I phoned the stealership. They were Cdn$1,200 including tax, which at today's exchange rate is pushing US$1,000 - perhaps less where you are but probably triple the cost of the Custom Enterprise aftermarket pipe and almost 4 times the Budget y-pipe.
