Car is having a hard time starting.

First it started with my security system glitched and cut off my fuel so i would sit there from day to day trying to start my car and figure out what it is until the helpful people of maxima.org said to check the security system and thats what it was..the car sat there for a good month and went through many failed starts so it kept pumping nothing..

when i try to start the car i have to gas it alot and a couple time over and over till i get it to start..during the day after driving i just have to pump the gas maybe once or twice and it starts fine..i changed my fuel filter but not sure what else could be causing the problem..the car drives fine once its started..and also i do have that coil issue with the 99..damn nissan for that too they should pay..

any ideas on how to get the car starting without gasing it and getting it ont he first try..thanks guys!

You might want to check your fuel pump. Since your car is fuel injected hitting the pedal before start up doesn't do anything.

well if i dont gas it then it wont really start up well..whent he car is in the ON position it does feed fuel and when u gas it, it does feed fuel into the engine. but only in the ON position i beleive..now the car runs fine once its started no bogs so im not sure if the fuel pump would need replacing? seems like something is keeping it from feeding gas well on startup or something..?

I'm having this same problem, but I have Just, like an hour ago, got my clutch and a new Fidanza flywheel installed. The mechanic thinks it' s that my crankshaft position sensor isn't long enough to detect the new flywheel. He has a new one coming in tomorrow and installing it. Will this work? I never heard anybody have this problem before. PLEASE HELP!!

The new CPS is about an 1/8 inch longer than stock. Trying to figure out if this will work or not, if it won't. What will make it work or where can I get something to make it work. OR do I need to get something to add to the flywheel for the sensor to read? Or do I just need to have the Mech. shim the flywheel?

I thought that with the fidanza, you remove the OEM timing ring and install on the fidanza?

Also, I am having the same issues, although with just a clutch change. Don't know what the heck it is... kind of which I got some sort of CEL to know where to look.
