If I get an aftermarket muffler only, not the cat-back system, will getting an aftermarket b-pipe make it louder or quiet it down?? Will getting an aftermarket y-pipe make it louder or quiet it down?? Will getting an aftermarket cat make it louder or quiet it down?? The only mod I have now is the cone filter intake. Does the apexi muffler silencer only work for the apexi mufflers or can i use it on another muffler to quiet it down??

B-pipe+muffler is a catback.

 

Getting a straight thru muffler will make it louder (only perforations to absorb noise, not baffling).

Getting a b-pipe will make it louder (removes the resonator, which is the first step in making the exhaust quieter).

Getting a catalytic converter shouldn't affect noise.

Getting a y-pipe will make it louder (removing two pre-cats).

Getting a y-pipe, cat back (including b-pipe and muffler) will make it the loudest.

 

if i get the muffler and a y-pipe, the exhaust will be loud...what about an add-on silencer/resonator? i think i heard apexi makes a silencer for their systems? how would i do that?
