Is the BOMZ CAI any good?

I'm thinking about getting one for my 95 GLE from eBay. I know I'm going to have to buy a K&N filter, but besides that, are they any good?

Just as long as it has a good filter, all intakes of a certain style are Just as good. No piping is really Bette than another unless it is Judy like godded up!

I bought a Bomz HAI off of eBay and it seems to work pretty well, only problem is the brackets that came with it weren't really compatible with anything under my hood, I think I'm supposed to twist and bend them to make them fit somewhere. I also had to buy new vacuum hoses since the connections on the pipe weren't long enough to be within reach of the stock hoses. The HAI kit came with one hose, but it didn't fit on any of the connections, go figure. Anyway, I'm still using the filter that came with the kit, it's nice and big so I haven't been in any rush to go buy a new K&N filter. Should I be?

wasnt there a post somewhere saying that when u got intake it would make u lose power but only gain 1 hp (oxymoron?) and that it was best to just leave the stock intake on?

also the injen CAI has anybody had problems with hydrolocking?

sry to jack the thread just trying to figure some new stuff out maybe u can use it to ur advantage.

yeah, i remember that thread, i agree with that. i think the stock intake would be best. hack the airbox for noise, do a oscai for some extra cold air... thats my ideal intake

place racing CAI is the best route to go if you wanted to get gains over stock IMHO. If you wanted sound and dont really care about power get a HAI or Hybrid setup like Francencar. You dont really loose any power with an intake setup, it just moves the power somewhere else on the powerband.

I have a hybrid intake on my car right now that i just took off for smog, and from driving my car with the stock intake back on, it seems like i cut short some of the top end that i had before with the hybrid intake. The low end is a lil more responsive tho...

The main thing with intakes on the max is the sound and look in the engine bay, any intake replacement is gona give your max that GET THE H3LL outa my fuggin way sound...wich is nice only really gets loud above 3k rpms so its not really loud all the time....
