Stuck on springs

I'm finally planning on dropping my car in the coming weeks. I'm planning on going with Tokico Illuminas. The spings are where I'm stuck. I know the car will handle better regardless of the springs, but are eibachs that much better than H&Rs or Tokico springs? I can sacrifice some ride comfort if I know it'll be noticably better. The drops are about the same but eibachs are supposed to be stiffer. Anyone have any experience with the spring setups? Are the Eibachs worth the extra cash? Thanks.

eibach is an alll out performance spring, i mean you do live in NJ so you will get a hard bump here and there with the eibachs, but if your young go with it, if your an old dude go with h+r. i personally think if your doing a suspension on a car it should be performance right? why else would you change the stock setup? go with eibachs and hug the road

Eibachs are really nice. With the Illuminas the ride will be fine.

Arent H&R and Eibach like the same price?

I'm 22, but man, I still feel the Maxima is not a race car... haha, H&R's for me so I don't have a bad back when I get older...

True, I wouldn't bother racing soo much with a Max or I30... I'd just style it up a lot more...

I had an opportunity to drive Maxrb8's car after I helped him swap out his stock shocks with Illuminas. He was using Eibachs in both cases and I have to say that the ride was most comfortable, very similar to stock. I now prefer the Illuminas over Konis.

I had the Koni Sport shocks paired with the Eibachs and it was rough, almost go-kart~ish but I had planned to autoX so it was a compromise. Since I only autoX once a year last fall I swapped out my Eibachs for the CMS springs to get a softer ride but still able to autoX.

I figure I'll just have to be more careful driving around.

The only place I found them was adventon.com and they were about $30 more for the eibachs.

Eibach & H&R are both excellent springs. Both ride about the same, Eibach being slightly lower then H&R. Lower means less suspension travel so a rough road on Eibachs will give you rough ride. Personally I lean twards H&R's over Eibachs. They make the Maxima look finished, not slammed, they ride awsome and handle excellent, almost better then Eibachs on real world streets because you can absorbe bumps better. Thats what your suspension is supposed to do, absorbe bumps and maintain ride control.

99NJMAX, If you'd like to test drive an H&R/Illumina set up let me know. Your just a few towns over from me. Then when you decide on which sprng to get, come see me for the installation. I'll set you up real nice!
