Im not to sure what it is. but when ever i give my car a work out it gives me this strong smell like some sort of gassy but not really gas smell..

i havent changes my air filter in a long time and i just realized that my spark plugs might be cheap b/c i let the guys at the gas station do it. but that was a year ago.

has anyone had any experiences like this or have any idea what it might be.

 

yeah mine is kinda the same way too. ppl here tell me to change my fuel filter since i havent changed it in a good while but who knows it could be sumtin else!!

 

When you give your car a good work out, ie. WOT. The gases that flow through your CAT at at it's limit and sometimes the gases leak into the cabin. Do you get the rotten egg smell?

i get more of an exhaust like smell... almost like somethin is burning, but its real slight... but also only at WOT

Well I am getting the same problem with the 05. I made an appointment but the lady there said that the problem is that the emsions for the car are set for California. So the gas in NY has to much sulfer. The sulfer gets stuck in the Cadalic converter and makes that smell. Hopefully they could fix it on Monday or I am selling the car. That is so annoying. All that power and can't use it.

 

What happens if you get a Y-Pipe? Will the sulfer still get caught? Or does it get caught in the cat behind the Y-Pipe, if there is one?
