I dont see how it could sound THAT bad. I had my stock resonator on with my flowmaster and it sounded really really low... too quiet for me actually.

mufflers dont give any noticable performance gains, if you want more sound and some performance get a y pipe

I love the sound of my Magna, I didnt want any loud annoying ricer noise farting from my Max, the tone I get from the Magna sounds nice, low, and deep, gggrrrrroooowl. I love it, but hey, like I said, I wasnt looking for any loud annoying can farting off at the slightest hit of the gas.

true indeed...isnt the root word for muffler, muffle?? I dont think you can get a lot of power from something thats suppose to muffle noise. Unless, I'm dead wrong.

Yes you are wrong. Depending on the type of muffler, some make more power than others. Chambered mufflers make the least power while straight through mufflers make the most... its not exactly just power your making, its exhaust velocity... which equals more power.

Yeah its known for aftermarket mufflers to gain some sort of power, but I dont look at mufflers if I want to get some serious gains. I've never seen mufflers provide upwards of 15+hp(unless there is one out there that I dont know about) I would think about all the other pipes first before I think about the muffler. I dunno, thats just the way I look at it. I mean, I dont have much knowledge in the technical areas of cars, but I always looked at mufflers as a way to deaden unwanted noise. Similar in the way you have muffles for Trumpets. It quites the noise that the Trumpet makes so it doesnt become over powering. Whateva.

Your right, but you asked if you were dead wrong. There are many other places to find power like the Y pipe. Most stock mufflers nowadays flow very damn well.

i like my magnaflow. nice and deep, just the way i want it. pretty loud though, but that's cool too. i guess it's all about what kind of sound you like.

A muffler will give you absolutely no power gain...maybe "1" horsepower if you are lucky...If you think you feel gains, you dont, its placebo effect, you think you may feel power but its only the difference in your exhaust tone that is making you believe you have more power...Y pipe gives a lot of gain just like everyone said...people who think you get horsepower from a muffler, are brainwashed...if you get a catback system, you may get a few extra horses

You know what, I did say that. My bad. LOL. But thanks for clearing that up for me. I really never thought about Exhaust velocity(even though I should have).

I guess you've never heard of exhaust velocity... Go put a muffler on from a 1980's vehicle on a car now and see how much power your going to loose.

Well i was looking for the 350z sound and thats what he said it would sound like. I dont like the deep ricer sound. I had a Acura CL and i put a full Catback Greddy EVO and it did make a differences when i got a dynoed and remapped.

What model number is it? There are single walls and double walls, the singles and double look almost alike except for different model numbers, maybe that is the problem.

Has anybody tried the Race Series mufflers?

I'm looking at the 14835, and I wanted to know if anybody had any opinions on it. 3" inlet and core. I will be running n2o at some point in the near future, so I'd prefer the 3" inlet as opposed to the 2.25". Can I get this exhaust to be quiet with the right resonator?

Thanks.
