Just bought a '99 SE Limited Edition. I installed a Courtesy STB. My question is, Are all SE's Limited Editions? By the way, this thing is awesome!

sup new owner

I have a '99 SE-L too, mfg in March '99. I'm pretty sure only SE's made after like Jan or Feb '99 were SE-L's, and the '99 SE's made in '98 were just regular SE's. Something like that.

The only thing that makes it an SE-L over an SE is the fact that it has special floor mats, sunroof, and I think auto climate control.

Congrats on the new 2 year-old.

SE-L's were made after feb as a way to market the max to make room for the new 5th gens....

i believe that most SE-L's are also Cali - spec.

99 SE-L

My wife has a limited edition. Arctic pearl i believe is the color. Only dif for hers is the titainium guages, titainium pinstripes (removed), SE badges and titainium tinted wheels. I think if she had gotten leather there might have been a few more limited goodies. Sweet ride.....only mod is clear corners...

How many of the SE-Ls had problems with the FSTB installation?

My 99 GXE was made in Feb or March 1999 and already had the strut towers on the 2k model, which included a flange on the driver's side strut tower that interfered with the mounting bracket on the Courtesy FSTB, which I had to remove with a hacksaw. I believe all SE-Ls have this same issue, but I wanted to see your experiences.....

I guess I am special too since mine is red. Also, mine does not have auto climate control, and it's a 5spd.

I had a small problem with the FSTB. I purchased mine form Courtesy. The supplied end plate bolts did not fit. Minimal clearance with one of the stud nuts. I had to use my own bolts. Luckily I found some gold anadized ones. They match the gold stud nuts. The head on the supplied chrome bolts were too thick.

You can not really get rid of the CA/NLEV equipment if so equipped... You can add a Y-Pipe (F-Pipe if you like) which will get rid of the rear bank CAT... but as for the rest the ECU depends on the setup in place... To check if you have CA/NLEV look at the underside of the hood it will have a sticker that says it complies with either Federal emissions and or it complies with California Emissions...

Oh and mine is with perforated tan leather (with embossed SE logo), & Auto Climate control the rest is listed in my Sig...

And yes my car had a bracket which needed to be removed before installing the FSTB... Also on the CA/NLEV the evaporator canister had to be moved for the CAI...

i think he met o2 sensors by 'thinggies'...

99+, CA-spec cars get 4 O2 sensors, not 2 as on fed-spec and all previous cars

and someone wanted to know where to get se-l badges, id say pick em up at a junk yard and while your there may as well get some type-r ones to throw on...

99 SE-L Lakeshore Blue/Charcoal Leather Interior
CA-Spec Emission/AT with all options.

Turbo95Max (Matthel) shaved the bracket for me with a dremel to make room for the FSTB. Very nice work.
