nope, i just like the 97's bumper better and the body kit from stillen is much nicer for 97's than for the 95's

I see.

Not sure if 97 front end is much better looking, I like the rounded look of 96.
I guess different strokes for different folks.

Better Headlights? I'm not so sure... better looking, YES. Better lights?

My '96 GXE Auto had glass lenses...

My '97 SE 5sp has plastic lenses that are all fogged up and cloudy from the 130,000+ miles and how weather that they've been subjected to...

BTW, I like how the '95/96 have the cornering lights besides the headlights that turn on when you signal to light up the area you're turning into... I wish my '97 still did that!

PIOPREMIER: Man your car looks *ucking DOPE!! Im gonna have to definitly consider a front end converstion for my 96 as well!! I definitly agree with you about how the 97-99 bumper/Stillen lip looks alot better and more agressive than the boring 95/96 front end. I already have the 99 style headlights/corner lenses on my car so im almost there, hehe.

Where did you buy the new bumper and hardware?
one other thing, do they sell OEM fogs/hardware as well, cause im not a fan of aftermarket foglight son tha max.

Great job

Ant

Sure, it looks good and all, but is it worth it? I heard that it's definitely not cheap to replace the bumper along with the foglights.

The bumper itself cost him about $160 and another $160 for the paint. $320 isn't that bad at all for the front end conversion. I'm considering doing it myself some day. Oh yeah, and that doesn't include the price of the stillen front lip.

Antony we're in the same boat i'm considering 97' bumper cover and Stillen from lip but my only worry is if the 97 fogs just bolt on the bumper or there's a need of some other brakets/hardware to mount w/it....

Can some one xplain pls.

Thanks JC

ps. Piopremier your car definitly looks frikkkin NICE.

That's a good price, but that doesn't factor in the cost of the foglights. IMO, without the addition of the foglights, the new bumper doesn't look complete. When replacing the bumper, do you have to change the grill as well? If not, what do you guys think of a new bumper with a SMX grill would look? I'm into the whole Trend's grill thing. So, if I get a '97 bumper, I'll keep the SMX grill.

What are you guys talking about when you say it doesn't fit right on his car?

The bottom part of the grill?

CUMALOT: sorry but the SMX grille does not fit on the 97-99 bumpers im ****ed about it too. I guess i will jump on the bandwagon and get me a trenz grille and paint it to match the car.
Then i have to worry about selling my SMX grille and 95/96 front lip too. Im sure somebody here will buy both

JeremiahMaximaSE:
when you did your front end conversion what was involved in getting the stock 97-99 fogs installed? Where did you buy the fogs/hardware from?

Your car is sweet. Your car would be about three times sweeter if you gave it the side-skirts and rear aero that go with that nose. It's a little asymmetrical, to tell you the truth - so much up front, not as much behind it.

Besides, when you get sick of that a$$hole right in front of you on the expressway and go right around him, he's looking at your tailpipe and not your nose.

Give him something nice to look at. A skirt. A nice chrome tailpipe. A custom license plate. Something to remind him that he hasn't just been cut off, but he's been cut off in +style+.

thanks for the comments guy, to answer a few questions. yes you need a new grill and front bumper to do the converstion. you don't have to have the headlights but alot of guys like them. you also don't need the metal part behind it, just the styrafoam but its the same for all years. and i also plan on getting the fogs and the rest of the kit just need to same some cash

About how much does the whole conversion cost start to finish? How much are the parts and how much would it cost to get them installed and painted? I am decided whether to buy a 95 an convert it or buy a 97 max.

Thanks,
jordan

So if I have a 95 se with foglights, I can leave the lights alone and just replace the grill and the bumper cover?

You have to get the 97-99 foglights. The 95-96 and 97-99 foglights are different.
