I will look at junkyards for a used airbox to hacked as per it seems to be the best, better than spending hundreds of dollars for Frankencar intake which do not give you any gains at all only noise. The only worry about that is that maybe the gas mileage goes down. Did you get the same gas mileage after done it?
As per removing emblems in trunk, the color difference will go away with time.

It is kind of a pain...not that bad though. You'll need a heatgun (a hairdryer might work). Just heat 'em up and peel 'em off. You'll then have to take off the adhesive underneath. I use PB Decal and Sticker remover (same company as the stuff people here like to loosen up rusted bolts). It's like goo gone only better. Make sure you wash it off as soon as possible.

It's like the same thing with a **** on a computer speaker. (I think I'm saying this cuz it's right in front of me) How there is a little notch so that the **** only fits on in one position. Well, think if it had many little grooves all the way around. Then you could take the **** off, turn it slightly, and slip it on over a different notch. If that makes sense, your welcome. Otherwise someone else can try. Just take your wipers off and putz around with it. I'm sure you'll figure it out.

Shave trunk emblems
Remove the immitation mud flaps
Ptatohed's back seat fold-up mod (oh sorry to tease, I'm still writing it )
Remove front license plate/frame
Flip your corner/clearance bulbs 180^ so they light up at 27 Watts
Add outside Temp display if you have a '98 with ACC (might cost you a button)
Any weight reduction.

There must be more...

my favorite is the fog/corner re-wire, the red/clears, although the clear fluorescent lighting cover costs $5...

Be careful with this mod because in heavy rain you can lose visibility because for every spline you lower them ( to hide them) the wipers won't go as far to the left on the windshield. For the driver it is very noticeable.

If you have a '98 with Automatic Climate Control, you have the same system as the '99s. You just don't have an 'AMB' ("Ambiant") button to push. But the actual button is there and functional behind the faceplate. If I recall correctly, you can buy the button itself for fairly cheap but it is missing the thing that would actually push the button behind it. People simply make there own from the top of a ball point pen or the like. You need to take off the ACC face, cut a hole for the AMB button in the face and install it. I haven't done it, only read about it over the years. Whenever I see a finished product, it looks good. Hope that helps.

I am 1000% percent sure the feature is there (hidden under the faceplate). And I am 1000% sure you can buy the 'AMB' button from Nissan. But you are on your own now as far as how to do it. So yes sir, you have a project to do!

"Ambient" or outside temperature dispaly. If you have ACC, you hit the 'AMB' button and the outside temp will display for about 5 seconds on the screen. It's fairly accurate, more so once you get moving. I do wish you could leave it up instead of it going away after 5 seconds. Just another fun toy.

Oh, I can do it! I'm just curious as to why they would put a thermometer for it in, bu tnot bother with the button. I will investigate it!!!

No, it wouldn't be. You need to remove some of the clear coat to get rid of all the buildup that's there. Waxing/light polishing won't do this. You need to cut it with a heavy foam pad or have it HS'ed.

I think you could get away with some 3m Fine cut compound with an orange Lake country pad with a Porter Cable. I did the bottom of my front bumper which was very oxidized for some strange reason and the thing looks like new. Unless the paint is extremely neglected, then I think you can get away with this method

Yep, that'd probably work.

Who know's? The only thing I can think of is so they can have something new each year, you know what I mean? Explain this: all '95-'97 ACCs have the text 'AMB' in the LCD screen. You can see it if you shine a flashlight in there. But there is NO way to activate it (no nice little button just waiting to be pushed behind the faceplate like in your '98). Hmm...

My '90 (3rd Gen) had AMB as part of the climate control, '97 unit not that much different design-wise, biggest dif is no AMB button

Most likely a cost issue or lack of demand, though it looks like my '97 still has the inside and outside temp sensors?

Guess I will still use the 'head out the window' method for checking temperature...

Mine did, but mine also had the digital speedo/tach, HUD, susp/trany switches, and climate control. Not sure what package it was, but it had neat features. I miss blasting through school zones, looking at the corner of the windshield, and seeing you are doing 60!!!

Shut up! Are putting me on? I never knew about any of those options available for a 3rd gen. HUD? Are you serious? Cool.

Serious, just speed info though. On similarly equiped 3rd gens, you will see a translucent panel in the driver's side windshield (about 2.5" X 4") just off the side view mirror. I had to find a replacement windshield once with this panel and the bill (to insurance) was $2300!!!
