I will look at junkyards for a used airbox to hacked as per it seems to be the best, better than spending hundreds of dollars for Frankencar intake which do not give you any gains at all only noise. The only worry about that is that maybe the gas mileage goes down. Did you get the same gas mileage after done it?
As per removing emblems in trunk, the color difference will go away with time.

Chop/lower auto shifter (haven't done it yet but hopefully all will go well)
Shave trunk emblems
Remove the immitation mud flaps
Ptatohed's back seat fold-up mod (oh sorry to tease, I'm still writing it )
Remove front license plate/frame
Flip your corner/clearance bulbs 180^ so they light up at 27 Watts
Add outside Temp display if you have a '98 with ACC (might cost you a button)
Any weight reduction.

Otherwise someone else can try. Just take your wipers off and putz around with it. I'm sure you'll figure it out.

If you have a '98 with Automatic Climate Control, you have the same system as the '99s. You just don't have an 'AMB' ("Ambiant") button to push. But the actual button is there and functional behind the faceplate. If I recall correctly, you can buy the button itself for fairly cheap but it is missing the thing that would actually push the button behind it. People simply make there own from the top of a ball point pen or the like. You need to take off the ACC face, cut a hole for the AMB button in the face and install it. I haven't done it, only read about it over the years. Whenever I see a finished product, it looks good. Hope that helps.

No, it wouldn't be. You need to remove some of the clear coat to get rid of all the buildup that's there. Waxing/light polishing won't do this. You need to cut it with a heavy foam pad or have it HS'ed.

Yep, that'd probably work.

Who know's? The only thing I can think of is so they can have something new each year, you know what I mean? Explain this: all '95-'97 ACCs have the text 'AMB' in the LCD screen. You can see it if you shine a flashlight in there. But there is NO way to activate it (no nice little button just waiting to be pushed behind the faceplate like in your '98). Hmm...

My '90 (3rd Gen) had AMB as part of the climate control, '97 unit not that much different design-wise, biggest dif is no AMB button
Most likely a cost issue or lack of demand, though it looks like my '97 still has the inside and outside temp sensors?
Guess I will still use the 'head out the window' method for checking temperature...

Lol, lol....
Are you serious? 3rd gens had outside temp? I didn't know that.

Mine did, but mine also had the digital speedo/tach, HUD, susp/trany switches, and climate control. Not sure what package it was, but it had neat features. I miss blasting through school zones, looking at the corner of the windshield, and seeing you are doing 60!!!

Serious, just speed info though. On similarly equiped 3rd gens, you will see a translucent panel in the driver's side windshield (about 2.5" X 4") just off the side view mirror. I had to find a replacement windshield once with this panel and the bill (to insurance) was $2300!!!
