You can clean the filter.............. I wouldn't replace the thing for $39 until it actually starts to fall apart lol. What filter is on it? MonsterFlow is a good filter and can be cleaned or bought new for $39. K&N is decent and can be cleaned as well, I would stick with the MonsterFlow air filter though.

i bought the pr style intake on ebay and it had a sh!tty filter. so i just replaced it with a fram air hog. way happy with the results. it sounds so much better and definitely makes a difference. i can get the part number if you really want it. it cost about 40$ its but its all good

i bought a bomz cai too and it came w/ a blue filter. checked out a k&n filter that was the exact same size at pepboys for $70. of course i did not buy it and figured it wouldn't make a diff b/c there the same size. but will the quality of the k&n make a diff?

The K&N filter will more then likely make a decent difference compared to some cheap blue filter you received so they could make the overall cost of the CAI cheaper. There is a reason why people buy K&N's because they do improve air flow and are reusable. Just like the MonsterFlow's.

i've only had my new filter a few hours, but it is actually a better sound and more responsive. i replaced my spark plugs at the same time so maybe that was part of it

and...i read somewhere that the Fram Air Hog filter is the same base as K&N, but is a little cheaper, so that was my reasoning

i got a k&n for like 35 bucks at Adv. Auto. They had to order it for me, but it was alright. Well worth the 2 day wait. I cleaned mine the other day. Takes about 30-45 min to clean because you have to let it dry off, and let the oil soak into it. my filter was really dirty, but my throttle body was perfect. Obviously the filter does it's job.
