im ordering a new cat back exhaust and im prety sure that i want to get the Apexi ws cat back exhaust. I just have a few questions about it that i cant find the answers to on the site im ordering it from. Is the mid pipe on it 2.5". Is the piping mandrel bent? When it says cat back... that specifies the b pipe and muffler correct? Will the hardware i need to hook it up with come with the exhaust? None of these questions are answered on the apexi site or the site im ordering it from.

The mid-pipe? You mean b-pipe? In that case no, the b-pipe is 2 3/8 diameter inside, and becomes 2.5 right before it reaches the axle. To me it makes sense since you keep some of the low end TQ and still get the bigger pipe as it gets near the straight-thru muffler. It is all mandrel bent. Also which are you getting, the ws or the ws2 as the first is no longer made. The 1st one is a titanium particle pipe that is powder coated in purple while the ws2 is all SS I believe.

 

sorry... ur right... its the ws2... what else do u know about it? will i actually notice power gains? i have to replace my stock cat back cuz its rotted away and figured id go w/ performance... i dont want anything too loud... how does this sound?

 

Without a y-pipe this will be very quiet. Although it will be heard if you get on it. Under partial throttle there is a faint but deffinitely noticeable gurgle/rumble from the muffler. Overall it's probably the best max cat-back there is.

 

Yaa, It is the catback I always wanted but will never have It is great and like Dave said, it is prob the best one out.

Yes Dave is right...you need the Y pipe to get more gain and more sound...the closer to the engine you get, the more power you make, when your dealing with exhaust...the Y pipe will let the engine breath much better thus bringing the sound out of your catback and allowing it to really flow air...... pardon my ignorance-what makes the Apexi the best system ??? ..... I always thought greddy was due to its perfect fitting, SS tubing, nice soft rumble, etc..

 

someone please tell me....what is so great about apexi, the sound?? ... how does it compare to GReddy Sp2 ??

 

i know for a fact the apexi WS is no longer made, dont think they ever came out with the WS2, and the reason why some of you noobs havnt heard of the WS is because no one bothers saying it cuz its so rare

in my opinion i think its the sound of the apexi. Ive heard the greddy, and the apexi, the apexi just sounds reeeeeaaalllly nice

Not quite like a ferrari, if it was I wouldn't have bought it. Mr. Duck is right, the WS was discontinued a while back but the ws2 is still made I believe. They do not have them on ebay. All comes up are some rice-*** knock offs or N1 fart cannons.

 

I was thinking about getting a different exhaust setup as well. I want to know if anyone has soundclips of a SP2 or Apex'i with headers. Some have told me to keep my current setup, but want to know how other catbacks sound, paired with headers.

My buddy has a WS type muffler on his Max. He has a custom 2.5" pipe it sounds really nice.

 

the apexi WS is one of the quietest, cleanest sounding catbacks I have heard on our cars....and I have heard all the setups!

 

so theres no where to get this even for full price ?

Not sure actually. Never asked him where he got it from. I don't think its the real Apexi WS muffler, but its definetly looks like it even sounds like one!

 

well i just looked on the apexi website, they dont even have the WS2 listen anywhere... for any car.. im so confused... can anyone verify that they started making the WS again for the maxima? or even the WS2?

Yup, no problem. I'm thinking about getting one as well. Not sure yet though, if I could find my buddies muffler or if I want a Altima 3.5 muffler.

The description they have for it is for the WS not the ws2 so I'm damn sure they have neither of them. The ws is/was all SS, no powdercoating or anything.
