We don't think. WHat do you think this is, a BMW forum. It won't fit and that's that. If I were you I'd donate $20 to the org and use the search function. A vq30dett doesn't exist does it? Not on a production car.

doesn't the manual z32 TT's come with 295hp already. So intercooled it may be around 320hp.

yah thats what im saying and the motor is only around 2500 and piping and intercooler around 700 so that is still cheaper than buying a turbo or supercharger kit ...AND you have a extra motor incase one decides to take a shyt

Sorry, Dave but VQ30DETT engines were produced. They powered the Cedric and Silvia models.

TMK there is no production car with a VQ30DET. I know nissan used a twin turbo VQ30 in a racing skyline.

The VG30DETT is a massive engine. It will never fit; TMK it has never been used in a FWD application. If you try to swap anything but a VQ into a maxima then you are wasting time by even asking us about it. We will say you are crazy and it is pointless.

The VG30DETT has about 300hp at the crank stock.

You would be better off SCing your car and selling the motor to someone with a Z32 or buying a Z32 that has a blown engine, a really cheap non turbo or some kind of RWD car that you could put it in.

I would give props to someone that could get a DD engine swapped and working in the usa. Probably not that hard but then again 210hp? Not really worth the effort

where does it make more power? Please show as last I checked ps doesn't equal hp. That engine had direct injection and we don't have the fuel that the engine needs, higher sulfur levels or some **** like that.

It's not the same, but it's really close:

1 hp = 745.69987158227022 W
1 PS = 735.49875 W

Dang this thread has some crazy info!

First of all the swap is a piece of cake. I had Midas do the swap in an afternoon, cost me like $183.72 or so. Jiffy Lube wanted to charge me $211.95 but I told them to shove it. Plus I would have had to flush the blinker fluid cooling system and switch to a ceramic ball bearing muffler myself if I had Jiffy Lube do the swap. Midas included both of these things in their price! Awesome.

Furthermore, the VQ30DET was available in the Gloria and Cedric, not the Silvia. Silvia=240sx and if that came with a VQ30DET, everyone and their brother would have one swapped into their USDM 240s (including myself in a friggin heartbeat). But they don't, because it didn't.

There is a twin turbo VQ30DE in the JGTC Fairlady Z, whether or not that is considered a factory VQ30DETT would be up for debate though. I say if it wasn't ever in a production car, it's a VQ30DE with twin turbos, but one could say otherwise. I know I don't consider myself having a VQ30DET just because I have a VQ with a turbo on it.
