I have a budget y-pipe and b-pipe. As with a lot of b-pipes it had some fitment issues. It cost me $100 to get installed. I have a flowmaster muffler with it and it sounds really nice. Before I got the b-pipe, I had a custom non-resonated b-pipe and it sounded extremely loud. Cool for 2 min and then annoying for the rest of the year and a half. Budget's service and products are great. I highly recommend them.

WSP doesn't have a place to place online orders, therefore it must be mailed or called in.

Also, if some of you are having trouble getting the CAT bolts off, just saw them off and make sure not to get the studs. If you make contact with the studs, you can replace them. They are roughly $3-$4 a piece. Just another obstical, but nothing major.

Yep.
Btw, no fitment issues with the B pipe and it came with hardware too.
No, that's not rust you see. Just tarnish from the welding.

O2 sensor tool $12
One Universal O2 sensor $45 shipped (www.oxygensensor.com)

I called them up and the GD for O2 sensor is still going on. The Deal is 10% off on purchases above $50 over the phone or 15% off through the mail. Check the GD section for more details.

well, found out where the rattling and popping is coming from...it's all exhaust leak where the muffler connects to the piping. i guess now that it's all freed up and with that extra pressure, it blew the old gasket out because there are pieces of it just hanging from the pipe. hopefully that's the only place it's leaking from, but i guess i'll find out tomorrw. blazingchimp, you might want to check over your exhaust system for a leak.

I had my y and b pipes on for like 3 weeks then my stock muffler started to leak, it got worse and worse, now it's very loud. It's the next thing in line that I need to buy.

Is the warpspeed y-pipe going for 160 bucks the aluminized one or the stainless steel one?
Also, I am really trying to avoid that bees in the can sound. In your experience, should I shell out the extra for budget?

Im doing my y-pipe hopefully on thurs and i need to know, is there any pointers i should know before starting.. im connecting my y pipe, highflow cat, and SP2 all at once.. can anyone give me advice please. Thanks

yeah, soak all the bolts you will be removing in PB Blaster the night before, in one hour increments. I mean get them drenched, they can be a real PITA. Mainly focus on the cat bolts no doubt.

well, got my leak fixed and it's still loud as hell. but during medium acceleration, i'm getting what i guess is the bees-in-can noise. is there any way to get rid of it? it sounds like an angry hoard of mosquitos is chasing me down.

me and paul(requin6) just finished the install of a wsp y pipe on my max. We had air tools and some other nifty tools that were handed when the bolts that connect to the cat got rounded off. The hardest part was getting the bolts off the cat. We broke off a whole stud in the y pipe but we havent noticed any leaking. The air tools really are handy and i dont know if i would tackle it without them. It was be a real PITA inless ur the hulk. Ive noticed a good bit of gains on the high end of the power band. THe muffler has a slight rumble to it. I havent noticed any bees in can noise or any other distinct noises from it. The intake seems to be slightly louder but that could be me thinkin its louder. Good luck guys!

Sure, get a Cattman y-pipe. To answer your question, you can't get rid of the bees in the can sound. It's coming from the poorly designed flex section. You can, however, "mask" the sound with exhaust wrap. I have no experience with this, I'm just conveying what I've read in other y-pipe threads. Read some y-pipe threads and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Good luck.

Stock flex-section is the only way you can get rid of the bees in a can. The stock flex-section is a much different design (although similar externally) internally as its actually a metal accordian wrapped in that weaving, therefore no holes for gases to escape when flexing. In aftermarket Y-pipe flex-sections, its just the weaving, but a more thicker one. This inherits that bees in a can sound due to some gases (very little) being released when its flexed.

And, that's what i figured...guess i'll have to break out the exhaust wrap and give that a try. has anyone tried taking the stock flex section and having it welded onto the new pipe?

this is exactly my car doesn't get a ypipe. All these damn threads about ypipe problems scare the bejesus out of me.

but if i were to get one, it would be a cattman. I've read my ypipe threads, and cattman has never seemed to fail.

OEM Flex-section is 2 1/4 inlet/outlet.

Aftermarket Y-pipe is at least 2 1/2 inlet/outlet.

doesn't exhaust wrap cause the pipe it's covering to heat up more than normal, decreasing the life of the pipe? i'm sure it's not too significant of a change, and especially if it is just for a few inches of the flex section.
I wouldn't want to do the OEM flex section personally, but what ever works for you it best. how bothersome is the bees-in-a-can sound? it was said that it happens when air is rushing through the flex section during 'flexing', so does this only happen under hard acceleration when the engine and exhaust are forced to flex? and i suppose it's not covered under warantee at all, huh?
oh well. can't wait to get my budget! woo!

Not just under hard acceleration. You can sometimes hear the bees accelerating out of a slow corner in 2nd gear when the engine has more load. The more your motor mounts are worn down, the more flex the section has the endure.

well, i've been getting used to the louder exhaust and the bees, but the bees are still annoying because i know it's making my car sound like ****e. from what i remember, exhaust wrap is good for the exhaust, keeping heat from being expelled to the motor causing it to run hotter. i might still give it a try since my buddy has all the exhaust wrap i need. do you just wrap the flex section or the whole pipe?

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!! I just changed my knock sensor and added my y pipe. Now i know what everyone is talking about...the power feels good. I have and ebay muffler and with the y pipe it sounds deeper and a little raspy....but i like it. And there are instant gains......my cousin used to beat me with his acura 3.5 rl......but now the tables have turned.....i beat him by 3 car lengths (it would have been more, but the speed limiter kicked in.

A poor flex section is not the only way you can get that "bees in a can" sound... you can have a faulty gasket, causing an exhaust leak and a crappy sound.
