Anyone know of any how-to’s for installing indigo/reverse gauges?

Anyone know of any how-to’s for installing indigo/reverse gauges?

My friend with a 95 Max just got some reverse gauges and we want to install them. I found this how-to http://www.vqpower.com/v2/modules.ph...showpage&pid=8
Anyone know of a better one? It does not seem too hard; the gauge cluster seems to come out much easier that I expected it would. Thanks.

Ok, if there are no other how-to’s out there could someone please tell me how you wired yours? That is really the only part I am a bit unclear on. I am pretty sure the inverter has two bare wires coming out of it, a red and black, I am assuming that the I need to ground the black to raw metal somewhere and that the red needs to go to a power source. But what power source should I splice into?

Someone must know a definitive answer about the wiring because I have heard multiple things from the red headlight wire, the blue dash dimmer or even the cigarette lighter wire; does it not matter as long as it is a 12v source? If it matters his have a separate on/off switch so they don’t necessarily have to be wired to come on with the headlights.

the blck goes to a ground screw. there should be some on the back of your cluster labeled GND. then i just tapped my red one into my dimmer switch.

ya, i did the same as 96stillen max. if you wire it to your dimmer switch, the gauges will conveniently turn on when you turn on ur headlights. no need for a separate switch.

Ok I think I will do the dimmer switch then, do either of you know what color the dimmer switch wire is? And is the wire behind the gauge cluster when you take it out? Thanks.

you take out the dimmer switch and look at the connector that goes into the back of the switch. i dont have my car here so someone else will have to confirm, but i think the wire you want to tap into is blue with a yellow tracer, or white tracer. i know its blue but there is another tracer color on it. can someone else confirm this?

Gage install

In case you still have questions there is another link detailing the job you are doing - I think it was under the How To section.

Well we attempted the install today but did not get very far. We could not even get the dash peace that is around the cluster off! We removed the screws on the top of it, but it did not want to pop out and we did not want to force it too hard or break it, so we just gave up.
