Experience with speed sensor troubles?

Hey guys, I'm new to the .org and this is my first post. I just wanted to introduce myself and the problems I've been having! So I just got my car back from the shop and after about an hour of driving it, the check engine light went off. Code 0500 is what the computer read. Does anybody have any experience with this? Does anybody know what could be causing it? I can't seem to get rid of it. Any help would be appreciated!!!!

you could use this website to decode your ECU Codes but there seems to be none for 0500. Are you sure its 0500?

I am assuming you are driving a Maxima

Well with the early maximas the problem could be cracked wires, in the TSB STICKY. Since yours is a 97 chances are you just need the sensor. It's about $30 at the dealer and takes 30 minutes to change. If that doesn't help, then I guess the wires are cracked and that's a whole lot more work.
