ok wtf is wrong wit my car? ..car revs like crazy

Is it a ghost or what? haha, alright I need help big time on this one

The other night I was driving and this hondah dude decided he wanted to race me, so we go at it and ofcourse he got a can of whoop ***, but I nearly did also.

I tried to brake and noticed it was taking a hell of a lot more effort to slow down than usual, then the next thing I know, I got both of my feet pushing as hard as I can on the brake pedal to slow down and it wasn't slowing down enough and the traffic light was red and I needed to stop before I got T-boned so I applied the E-brake and that thing was literally vertical when I finally got my car to stop.

So now I'm scared SH!TLESS! so I put my car into *Park* and my car revs up to 4k...ghost? heh WTF! So then I barely make it home, and the next day my car doesnt have the braking problem, it's just whenever my car starts now, it revs to 2k, then down to 1.5k then back to 2k, then settles down to 1.5(This is while the car is in *Park*

And I also noticed my car isnt as smooth when I begin to accelerate and when I'm nearing a complete stop.

Anyone know wtf is going on?

do you have an intake? sometimes the hose clamps can cause the throttle wire to stick.

Something similar happened to me a while ago, i was on the highway and i pushed the gas hard to go around some guy, and it took me really hard to stop, i actually drove on the side at like 40 and pulled the E-Brake, finally stopped, popped my hood, everything looked okay, and then i started it up and it ran perfectly, got it checked out and it turns out there was something messed up with some of the cylinders.... so good luck and let us know whats wrong with it

That has happened to me and it was the throttle cable.

I did some donuts (unknowingly throwing a huge power cable + fuse in the middle of the throttle cables. 30 minutes later I headed out to the store and raced dude in a civic. The fuse was like a trap waiting for me to go WOT. After I hit the top of 2nd gear, I realized the car wasn't gonna stop. It's one of the top 10 scariest / dumbest things ever considering the curve that was coming up.

Good luck, hopefully it won't happen again.

First, get a mechanic to check the the idle air control system (the hoses, etc..) for vacuum leaks.

Second, if there are none, then have him replace the Idle Air Control Valve.

take out your intake up to the throttle body. inspect the butterfly plate and pull up and around the accelerator cable. do it nice and slow. and then like your WOT. if there is some drag, take out the 2 phillips screw's and goto WOT and clean the crap out of the plate, and then clean your throttle body. put it back in and make sure it is aligned with the body. then pull up and around the accelerator cable. do it nice and slow. and then like your WOT. if there is still some drag, readjust the plate until it is square with the body.

if that doesnt fix your problem. check the amout of volts going into your TPS should be like 5v. i dont know the specs but check that out.
