I Need a new muffler...

My current muffler on my 1996 GLE is rusted through and sounds awful. I need a nice replacement. Not looking for anything too expensive or ricey. Just want a quiet sound for the most part. Any suggestions for me? Thanks.

go with the 5th gen, even with a big resonator the magnaflow will be loud. The magnaflow wont give you any preformance gain over a 5th gen or a muffler shop special

Not looking for performance gain, just a replacement. Would rather not get the 5th gen, something about flanges or what not.

These guys are steering you into a 'brand' name performance muffler. You can basically walk into any exhaust shop and have them install a no-name muffler that will be quiet and similar to OEM but cheaper. You don't have the worry about loudness, especially since all you're replacing is just the muffler and nothing els

Okay, I just watned to check to see if there were other options. I think there is a brand called "Bosal" that is around $100 that my Dad was looking into.

The stock Nissan 4th gen muffler is manufactured by Bosal; part # H5000-59787 , it can be found online for under $120 w/ free shipping.

hey I have a bosal from my crashed max... I can just give it to you, it is in good condition... replaced (bought) in 2002 (I think) it will still last a long time.
pick up, and you have to take it from my house (since the cars is going no where)
perfect fit ...

Bosai and Walker are aftermarket names. The OEM design is the same as they are replacement parts.

You can get a dynomax muffler for like $50 shipped. It may give you a slight purrr over stock, but will still be quite. Quieter then a resonated magnafow, but probablly not as quiet as stock.

Hey I'm a lazy ***, and I don't feel like getting dirty on my back then going to a post office getting it wraped and shiping to anyone, if you guys live close you can drive and take it away in 30 minutes.
for thouse who don't know were I live.

It is 2 miles from downtown nashua, NH or if from lowell it is just 10 miles.
I don't mind you guys coming by on a weekend and taking things off.

Also, donations to the guilherme Fund will be accepted, I won't charge anything for things you want to take, but you can donate some money.

Thanks

Edit: Actualy I changed my mind about something. if you guys don't come pick up soon, I will take all the stuff from my car and put it for sale. on the org or ebay. becasue my parents keep telling me they will send it to the junk yard very soon, and I will lose it all.
