Dash Kit?

I'm looking to liven up my interior just a tad with a dash kit. I have a 96 SE with TAN INTERIOR. Has anyone put in a brushed aluminum dash kit or seen one in person? Does it work with the tan or not? I'm looking for something different than just stock, so if it looks even decent i think that i'll do it. Also, has anyone had any experience with this e-bay item(s): http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...968634939&rd=1
It is the cheapest dash kit other than vinyl, yet has the most pieces at 30. I do realize that it will probably look like a sticker, because it is not aluminum, but is terrible or not?
THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP, ADVICE, AND TIPS

My Mom's Subaru is tan inside with aluminum trim. In my opinion it looks a little weird. I haven't seen aluminum in a tan Maxima though. I think wood would look better but it's all up to your taste. Have you considered just painting the trim pieces?

The only real experience i have had with this was a friends camaro, and it looked awful! What's the best way to go about doing this? I'm really not sure.

Brushed aluminum is definatley not the way to go if you have a tan interior, it won't clash enough, go for something darker. Aluminum looks good if its a black interior though..

sorry to ***** up your tread, but one question i have is, i have a gold max with black leather interior, and i dont know if i should go with the cf, or aluminum. because right now i have the wood and i hate it. the only thing about aluminum is the car is gold, so if you look at interior from standing outside, it would look wierd to see a gold car and silver interior?

There's a writeup in the "How To's" (about 1/2 way down)

I might try this if I get brave enough...not sure what color though. I was thinking the exact same thing as 96mAx2fast. A darker brown would probably look really cool cause it would match the tan interior but it wouldn't look...let's say "too classy" like the wood (if you're going for a "younger" look).

Im debating whether to do wood or a brown, but the brown has to match the consold, steering wheel, etc.. Not sure if i can get a perfect match..

IMO, those fake aluminum sticker stuff is horrifying. I saw this guy with the REAL aluminum trim and it looked really nice. It cost him about $200+.. I forget what website it was.

i think what mendon meant was that aluminum wont contrast enough. things clash when they dont complement each other (not to be a smart *** or anything mendon). but nonetheless he is right. u want it so that the color of your dash sets off the color of the dash kit. tan is a light color and aluminum is as well. i had the same problem deciding on a kit, i wanted to do all aluminum but once i got just the gauge bezel in i realized that i was about to make a mistake so i changed gears (no pun intended) and i eventually picked a real cf kit. being the the cf is dark itself it kinda keeps the original contrast in the dash. i have to say the cf really pops against the tan. a nice dark wood grain will achieve that look in the same way, by keeping that contrast. so i would say definitely go with something dark in color. you wont be disappointed when you're done and that dash kit jumps out at you. good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Hey, thanks for the info. I had kinda felt that CF would come out a bit too ricey, but maybe not. I didn't think about it too much. I'm gonna look for that now.
