Sticky Gears...warm Weather???

I have a Stillen flywheel and an ACT stage 1 street disc clutch.....had the same setup for about 2 years without problems. Recently, only in the warm/hot weather, my gears are super sticky toshift into and out of ONLY WHEN THE CAR IS WARMED UP. Before warmup, the car rides like a champ. When fully warmed up, it is extremely difficult to get into gears (1st gear especially), even if I try to shift into 2nd first just to ease up the 1st gear. Anyways, when I finally get it into gear, the whole front end vibrates and shakes vigorously. What the heck is goin on here?

I have the same symptons except for the vibration <--- which makes me think you have a bigger problem. But so far i've heard (read actually) that our cars have that annoying 1st gear...i use to clutch it one more time and it goes in smoothly. But i dont experience vibrations...

Edited: What production date are you? Cuz i am planning to get a stillen flywheel since I am 02/95 and Fidanza wont make easy for me. I got the SPEC stage 2 with the kevlar plate sitting in my closet waiting for next month to get the stillen for obviou$ rea$on$

u check the gear fluid ? if not change the fluid to redline MT-90 or any other brand see if that helps
when i did my B&M i changed to redline improved shifting a little

I suggest getting all of your motor mounts inspected. It's possible that engine/tranny movement is affecting the change mechanism.

Where is this vibration coming from? Is the clutch already engaged, or is this from the clutch not grabbing smoothly?

dgeesaman thats a good possibility....thank you! As for the others, I have been running MT-90 since I bought my maxima about 4 years ago. I'm trying to figure out why this would only happen in the warmer/hot weatherafter my car's initial warmup. I do not wnt to replace the clutch if I don't have to, but part of me is leaning towards the release bearing in my clutch.

Maybe its me but i think ur clutch is not engageing all the way and when u do force the 1st gear in ur engine shakes cause clutch is not holding
how many miles on the clutch

I figured the rubber mounts will be softer and if they are cracked, more prone to moving around when hot.

Bearings tend to get quiet and move more smoothly when warm, but a partially seized t/o bearing certainly can add to shifting resistance.

Its probably gonna be something with the clutch... i learned a hard lesson when mine did it. Its probably the pressure plate or release bearing. Have you checked your brake fluid and clutch master/slave cylinders for leaks?

All fluids are filled & no leaks ... but im also thinking it is the release bearing. I dont wanna rip it all apart and find out that my clutch is fine but i dont have a choice.
