Anyone have any writeup or general instructions on how to replace the front right ABS sensor with harness?

Is it hard to do? is it possible to do it with just the wheel off and car jacked up or do i need to have it lifted?

Its a good idea to remove the wheel and have the car lifted slightly so you can get easier access.

Was ABS a standard option on all '99 GLE's or was it an extra?

dont know about 99's i got a 97, and it wasnt a standard. Knowing Nissan ABS was not standard on the 99's either. I know they started to offer traction control on 99's and I think u need to have ABS if u want to get traction control so i would think ABS wasnt standard either.

ABS wasn't standard on USDM Maxima's until the 5th generation model. IIRC its a $599 option.
