Power antenna

My power antenna is not going all the way down and I figured the problem lied with the mast so I went out and bought a new one....the only thing is that I cannot get the damn original one out!!! If anyone could give me some help on this it would help me out alot. Also I know that you have to turn the radio on and all you should have to do is pull the antenna out with the coil but it isnt working on mine.

You need to turn the nut at the base of the antenna where it mounts to the body, even though it's not actually screwed in. Turn it like your unsrewing it with pin nose pliers or something similar once that piece starts coming up you'll be able to pull it out and the mast will come out then. Take note of the direction of the mast teeth as you will need to put the new in the same way. Resuse the old nut piece and reinsert the new mast.

Same thing happened to me, but I'm too cheap so I put some oil on the mast and worked it it... ever since, I'm good to go.... did you try that?

Mine was working slowly and not going all the way up or down when it was cold, so I got the antenna up and disconnected the power source. Permanently up, just like nearly every other car on the road. One less thing to break.
