Hey guys,
whats the max tow capacity for our 4th gens, I'v got a 2500lbs boat and don't think my mom's subaru 4-cyl (non-turbo) can handle it.

think the max's V6 could pull it?

The towing capacity is not determined just by engine output but rather more what kind of braking you've got.

It's in the owners manual. I want to say 2000 pounds for the Max with that tiny hitch... but I don't remember....

Your Mom's Subaru could certainly tow 2500 pounds. The question is could it stop it....

considering the brakes on the maxima have a lot of brake fade after a lot of braking, towing a trailer might be difficult, you should invest in some trailer brakes if your going to tow with the maxima.

Not recommended imho, it's not simply HP or braking, it's unibody.

What exactly would you tow anyway, a boat or jet ski? If so, a p/u or suv would be the way to go.
