so over the weekend I installed a trunk lip spoiler. of course i choose the day that it begins to rain instead of the two days prior when it was 80 degrees. today both ends of the crappy ebay lip spoiler came undone.

the question being. what are the effects of epoxy on a car's paint. I know it's probably the strongest adhesive i could buy from a retail chain. I've used that glue Goop! you can get at any home depot, and have had plastics melt on me. What properties do epoxy adhesives work on? Will there be any detrimental effects on the paint, such as bubbling, cracking, etc. of course in the end i'll sand, primer and paint everything up, just don't want the epoxy giving me more troubles that i would imagine.

It's gonna depend on what your putting the epoxy on. I'm sure you can get something better than epoxy. You should use 3m double side foam tape & bolt it in. Epoxy?? I hope your not thinking of use glue to hold it on!!!! :

I did use 3m double sided tape and it's coming off at the ends. I can't really bolt it on, since it's such a thin lip spoiler.

I have no intentions on removing it, I would really just like to have it secure. The only thing I'm afraid of is the epoxy warping the paint/metal of the trunk's edge. I just get the feeling that with my luck, that exact thing would happen.
