VALVE NOISE II (lifters)

okay its now definitly the valve...i assume the valve lifters are making noise...my dad who owned the car since it was new said that it has always had some noise and it shouldnt be any trouble until way down the raod but my car does have 147K and if you ask me thats far enough down the road to leave the problem as it is...now does anyone know if i can have it tuned or adjusted or what needs to be done?

From what I read in the Haynes manual they are adjustable but.......Looks like it requires tearing apart some of the motor. $$$$

You might be better off looking for a used motor on carpart.com when it dies which may not be anytime soon.

It's probably injector noise, mine's made it since the day I got it, and it now has 227k.

Definetly....same thing here...sounds like lifters

The valves CAN be adjusted on the VQ but it is NOT worth it. They rarely even need adjusting
