re-wiring neons under dash

I have blue neons under my dashboard, which I wired underneath my dash so you cannot see the wiring. It's plugged into the cigarette lighter. I don't care if they're considered "ricey", so don't bother posting that. I wanted to know if anybody knows of a diagram, or knows how to wire them so that instead of turning the switch on manually, i can just wire them through my headlights so that whenever I turn on my headlights, they come on. Thanks

You'd just have to wire them to the headlights wire. You'd probably have to use a relay so you don't burn out the wiring. Get a haynes manual for the colors of the headlight wiring. Here's a site with more info than you could possibly want about relays: http://www.bcae1.com/. Just go down the menu to the right until you get to relays.

Run it to a switch and use your cigaret lighters power source, just splice into that. Don't be lazy and just plug it in. Teh RICER. lol

i wired my neons up to the ash tray light since it broke the harness and bulb anyways. so now my neons turn on when i turn the headlights on. you just splice the + to the + and the - to the -.

I wired a 3 lighter socket strip with a switch to the wiring on the back of the stock lighter. and hooked it up under the seat. It works pretty good. You see no wires, and you have a choice of having them on or off. Also it keeps the original socket free for other things.

Tap it to the blue wire coming off your dimmer switch. That way your neon lights will come on when you turn on your parking lights.

So would I just take the blue wires out of the switch, tie the wires from the neons to that... wrap them tightly together, then put it back in the switch?

The power connection to the dimmer switch will have 3 wires connected; Blue, Red and Black. No need to disconnect the blue wire as the entire connector can be disconnected from the dimmer switch. Just strip the blue wire so that the cooper wire is exposed and then twist/connect the power wire from the neon tube to it. It is recommended that you solder and heat shrink this connection but if you are unfamilar with this process then you can just use quick tap connectors.
