bose addition
I'm going to post this in the electronics/audio forum as well, but I wont receieve as many responses there. My friend just bought a 99 SE-L and he is wondering if the bose deck had preouts for his 2 jl w4 subs... if it doesn't work, what would be the best way to hook them up while keeping the stock bose system? Thanks

I tapped into the signal wires from the rear speakers using RCA's.Then used the RCA's into the amp. Your gonna have to keep the gain control down lower than normal. The signal is higher than a regulator RCA signal.

I got the pac unit forgot model # (NISS something), but sure u can find it online or in audio forum. It connects right into the back of bose unit with rca output's and a remote line to turn ur amps on. Make's install simple, no cutting splicing. No wierd noises and sounds great. I wired mine up to a rf 250a2 (400w rms) and 2 12 inch kicker comps vr's in a bandpass box. Sounds real nice everything looks stock + i have the 6 disk changer that all conected to headunit. I got mine used for around $30... there was someone selling some on here b4, look might still have them, best option in my opinion.

stereo question
hey everyone,
i have a 97 maxima with the audio system that looks like the bose (the one below it that doesnt say BOSE on the tape deck) anyways i noticed that people sell the bose stereo with no speakers or nething, will i be able to just swap the old one with the bose?, will it make a difference in my sound?
and another thing i want to install a bazooka tube in my car will it sound different if i have the bose stereo in there as opposed to the regular factory one

No GNR4All you cant just plug and play the bose system into a non bose car. You would be better off just getting an aftermarket player if you are planning on doing anything... And I would listen to those bazooka tubes in someone elses car becuase at least in my opinion they didn't sound to good to me.

someone suggested to me that for a maxima i should rather use a 10 inch box than a bazooka tube, does neone know the difference? I am not looking to rattle my license plates with bass, im just looking to fix the lack of bass whatsoever in my car
