would it be a good idea to gut out the CAT when doin a custom 2.5'' exhaust system....

huh? whether ur doin a custom 2.5 exhaust system or not, do not gut out the cat.
theres really no advantage for u doin that and it will make ur car louder and plus it'll be bad for the environment. just get a high flow ccat or test pipe
