Depending on the state/county/city laws it may depend on the legality of the tint. Around here it isn't legal and yet it isn't illegal. Friend has a 5% on all windows and a 35% on the windshield. The day is awesome, no one can see in and looks clean. NIght driving through the windshield really isn't bad at all. Backing up isn't easy though. But is definitley worth it.

35%...50% wont even look that different and not worth the money. About the defroster, it wont hurt it. If you think, defrost is on the side windows as well, and in the summer time you have 100x more heat hitting that anyway. Hasn't affected me much at all.

i regret sometimes gettign 20% all around. i wanted to get 5%. anybody want to switch all windows with me with tint for clear ones? lol

Well, yeah it does look darker lookin into the car when it rains, but I honestly don't think a cop would say "wow his windshield is tinted" because one you can still see the Inspection sticker, EZPass and anything else on the windshield very easily and pretty much clearly and two, I think he'd more think along the lines of, "oh well it's dark inside cuz he got tint all the way around." So honestly, I think you'll be aight especially since they don't like to come out in the rain unless it's something real bad or important.

Now if nothing on the windshield was visible, then yeah they'd be like WTF, why cant I see his inspeaction sticker from 5 feet away lol.
