If you consider $12 an expensive fix then don't click on the link below:

Got mine from these guys, we'll packaged comes with DIY instructions, can't beat the price, dealer up here wanted $50 for the same thing!!!!!!!!!!

But try cleaning the mast first

maintenance is the key ...every now and then get some liquid wrench and spray it around the mast while still functional and wipe.

If it's stuck because there's dirt stuck in there or it's just not lubed enough, try the liquid wrench/wd40/whatever while the antenna is moving up and down, and wipe it with a rag at the same time. If there's a bend, even a small one, you're probably going to need a new mast. I spent hours with needlenose pliers trying to straighten mine, and I never got it working to where it would go all the way up and down without a problem.

To tell you the truth, Tex, i actually used oil on the mast but nothing happened. There are no bends but im sure there's rust. The problem started out when the antenna would only go down half way. Then one day it went down but now it will only go up half way, lol. I'll try some white lithium grease when the rain stops but i have a bad feelind i'll be taking a trip to autozone for a new mast.

No its probably not the mast. Pull the lining out of your trunk and remove the entire power antenna assembly. Open it up and clean all the dirt and grime out of the gears in there. My antenna stopped going down this winter so i cleaned out mine, and it made all the difference. The gears in there get covered in so much dirt that the teeth don't catch all the way and it slips when its pulling the mast down.
