Has Anyone Felt This?
Did anyone feel a decrease in throttle response from installing a y-pipe? I just put on a budget y-pipe and i have injen CAI. Is there much of a break in period? It smells kinda weird, like onions?
from under the car at least. does the fuel/air ratio need to adjust? any tips or experience is cool. thanks

yea it needs time...give it a few days. today after 3 days of having my warpspeed one installed i really got to womp on the car. after about 4 grand i can raelly start to feel the car pulling, pulls to 100 with ease i love it!!!

it doesn't need time to adjust...you've done something wrong. My friend had a similar experience after putting on a y-pipe. It turned out that one of the o-rings on the front end of the pipe did not "sit" properly.
It may also be that you have not positioned it precisely. Even after you screw in the bolts, it does not guarantee that the pipe ends are evenly aligned.

The Injen is causing your lack of throttle response. It's getting warmer outside and that intake pulls in very hot air from your engine compartment.
Put the stock intake back in and your throttle response will come back. Open up the stock setup slightly by opening up the inner side (against the fender wall) of the resonator box thats down under the battery tray, throw a K&N filter in and your stock intake will perform just as good if not better then any CAI or cone intake on the market.
The best part is nobody will ever see or hear that mod, but it works!

I got my Ypipe put on yesterday!...you will definitley get more power, no way youll get a power loss!...I like that I have a little more sound...hard to tell the power difference but I think it might be pulling harder after 3 or 4,000 rpms.....actually driving over 80 the thing MOVES !..I got on the expressway and some c280(4 door) mercedes had the nerve to try and take my lane...lol...that definitely wasnt flying...so I had to burn him....didnt spank him, but he couldnt keep up
....VQ engines are the best

also, noob question, i know, but i've never had my CEL come on. will it always come on when something is wrong, or could you get a code without it telling you?
There are times when there is a stored code..
Example...
stored 0303, no CEL. The ECU is relying on the front right bank and rear o2 sensor for a proper air/fuel mixture
stored 0503, no CEL. The ECU is relying on the front left bank and rear 02 sensor for a proper air/fuel mictue
stored 0304. This will always be stored. If its in conjunction with one or more O2 code, then the CEL light will come on.
If both your front O2 sensors (0303 and 0503, or a heated O2 sensor code), they will at first be stored. After driving an X amount of miles and/or having the car run an X amount of time and the ECU receives a constant signal of 0.3volts from one or more O2 sensor, then at that time the CEL light will come on.

(i'll get a pic on here tomorrow)
