1.3 BAR Radiator Cap
hey, i just got a nismo 1.3 bar radiator cap and i just wanted to know if it was ok to keep it on my car at all times. it says for competition use so i got somewhat worried that it might be bad to keep it on all the time. well if any of you know about it, please let me know. thanks.

The only function of a radiator cap is to increase the boiling point of the coolant in a similar fashion that a pressure cooker raises the boiling point of water. I don't think you have anything to worry about by keeping it on the car for daily driving.

I have a size 11 foot.
Bigger feet means you step on the gas pedal harder.
The harder you step on the gas pedal, the more HP you get.
The way I figure it, a new radiator cap and some new sneakers, nobody is gonna beat me.

peopel are silly to joke.. gay stuff like mugen on a nissan or a gtr emblem on a maxi is ridiculous but doing things for aesthetic purposes dont necessarily constitue rice? i mean that is stupid to pretend or do something there cars are not.. u can put tein stickers if u wanna support tein or put this and that for reppping.. but.........
if that being said means rice, u are ricey if ur changing ur bulbs, getting ambers, headlights, tail lights, spoilers, hmmm.. carpet design, sounds etc etc.. see what i mean?? infact sounds, does nothing but ad weight to car...
come on now..u can be rice or whatever just do what u like.... i mean we all do things here and there to make our car appealing to ourselves. so why we ******* others??? anit-rice campaign is a bandwagon thing now... kids...
u dont here people saying getting momo pedals or ***** = rice?? sigh...
the thing is, dont put a GTR on a nissan or do some crazy stuff...

I actually bought an aftermarket tach (chrome) That's rice, but the stock one just isn't precise...
I also think about getting blue underdash neons... and maybe those pedals... that will be it for rice

Have you ever had your car run hotter than normal? Ever?
-If you've never had it run hot, don't install it. Higher pressure cap means higher pressure in the cooling systems.....ie seals, hoses, etc (remember, that stuff is all a full decade old). If you've never seen the temp needle show anything other than dead center you will gain absolutely nothing in any way/shape/form and only have downsides to show.

If you are Turboed or SCed it might help the coolant system work more efficiatly. NA it probably won't do much. It can't really hurt though unless you have a leak in the coolant.
My friend saw a "Nismo" radiator cap on ebay for like $15. He called me and asked if I wanted it. I was like sure what the hell. I got it and it was a 1.3 bar no name brand cap with a Nismo sticker I can put on. The sticker doesn't even match the real nismo one but most people won't notice and it should still be 1.3 bar. Oh well.
The 300zx TT (or any turboed nissan) radiator cap is 1.2 bar and costs a lot less, like $10-15. The real Nismo 1.3 ones cost what $40. If I didn't have this one I would just get a TT cap.
Oh and if anyone thinks the tach is not precise, our water temp gauge is there to tell us when we are warming up or over heating. Besides that it is just there. Our thermostat is what regualates temperature anyway. The cap doesn't reduce temperatures. It just makes the system more efficient and raises the boiling point.

i think people should just do what they want. even if it doesn't improve the car, but rather just make it different. you're the one who drives it every day. some people just bash others like someone said, to be on the bandwagon. big deal, lettem do what they want.
