put on a filter instead of breather hose
hi, ive got somewhat of a vague question..
there's a breather hose that comes from the stock intake and into the top front of the engine block..its slim ...black ..made of rubber
at the silver city vancouver meet a while ago, one guy had this hose taken off, and had put on a small filter. looked realy interesting and he had a realy nice engine bay. pretty sure he wasnt running the stock intake anymore but i forget.
does anybody know if this is a mod? anyone done it/know what im talkig about?
i wonder

It's a mod, if by mod you mean anything that isn't stock. As long as you plug up the hole on the intake and put the breather on the front valve cover it should be fine. It's pointless though whether you have an aftermarket intake and even more so with a stock one.

Wrong again. The hose coming from the front of the engine, as you call it, sends fumes or whatever from the engine to be sucked in through the intake and burned off. When you just put a breather on there, the fumes are released inside the engine bay. It's as pointless as anything gets.

I personally would leave it connected to the intake. The negative pressure from the engine sucks the gas out. I wouldn't want that blow-by hanging around in the valve cover/crankcase to contaminate the oil any faster.

sometimes there is blow by oil and when using a breather the intake manifold gets dirty. if you have an aftermarket mid pipe I suggest using a breather since the stock resonator/oil separater is gone.
