weird gauge bulb problem
i recently bought autometer gauges from nismomax98 and when he was installing them im my car we ran into a really bizarre problem... the bulb in the voltmeter gauge was burnt out so he had a new bulb to replace it... seems simple enough, but when he replaced the bulb all of a sudden the gauge didnt work, needle wouldnt move. so we put the old bulb back in to see if that was actually the problem, and it was, now the gauge worked. ok, so maybe the new bulb was no good, we tried another new bulb and several others bulbs of diff brands he had lying around... the only one that would work was the old burnt out one. so for now i have the burnt out bulb for sake of the meter working, but now it just doesnt light up at night... anyone have any clue what this could be, b/c we were both puzzled??? id like to get a new bulb to work... hopefully someone knows whats goin on

Maybe the bulb that is included helps complete a circuit and has a specific ohm rating to it, I would take an ohm meter to it and check the resistance and try to find a bulb with a similar ohm rating. In worst case contact manufacturer tech support.

the burnt out bulb was a polarg bulb that had replaced the stock one... the bulb we tried to replace it w/ was the same exact bulb... i thought something like that initially too
