hood struts on fiberglass hood

we've all haerd how bad of an idea hood struts r on a CF hood b/c of how light and flexible CF is... so i know fiberglass is lighter, but its not suppose to flex, so could u still use the stock hood struts???

Im thinking its going to be the same situation.
The CF hood is lined underneath with FG. The skeletal structure is also FG.
The FG and CF should wiegh the same, and why wouldnt the FG flex?

1- CF is lighter
2- CF is much stiffer
3- All "CF" maxima hoods are really just a bunch of fiberglass with a layer of CF fabric on top for the ricer look. So they're really FG hoods.

DO NOT put hood struts on a FG hood, unless it is properly strengthened to handle the strong loads from them. Hood support struts have quite a bit of pressure when the hood's closed, it is guaranteed to tear out of the composite hood frame.

Actually, the whole top part is also fiberglass too. Just the top layer is CF. If something is 10% CF and 90% FG, it's hard to say it's a CF part don't you think?

Glad to know you like your FG hood! Just for the record, i do like CF acessories, and have quite a few on my car. But my hood wouldn't go on without being painted.
