ok so a couple weeks ago i put a 96 WSP B-pipe and Stillen muffler on my 98 max - no problems really. only thing is that i had to weld and 02 bung behind the cat (oh yea i got a RT cat as well) bc the O2 bung in the cat is to small to fit my third sensor in (thanks alot nissan). anyway i got the bung welded and everything and the guy told me that i would not have reset the ecu bc it resets itself once the problems fixed and thus my CEL would go off after 7 miles or so. well i think ive driven it about 10 and it still hasnt gone off. Will it really reset itself? also im hearing some banging when i hit bumps in the road from the pipe like its loose somewhere. has anyone had this problem and advice on what it might be?

If the problem is gone then the CEL will go off by itself eventually. I know it's taken more than 10 miles for me before. You can also reset it yourself with the screw on the ECU.

 

Reset it yourself, and see what code it pulls.
