what brand are the springs that come with custom maximas tokico setup, they just said they are custom made, were they made by H&R or what?

MADE BY VOGTLAND (so I've read and been told).

If they're the same springs that come in all Tokico Illumina kits, then yes, they're made by Vogtland.

Incidentally, Vogtland also makes springs for Koni's suspension kits. There isn't one available for the Maxima, but I'm just taking the opportunity to point it out: anyone who has doubts about Vogtland should consider that a prestigious suspension company like Koni has chosen their springs over others'.

I don't know, it says that they are custom maxima / tokico springs. And from what I have read they got together with that company and made this spring for that setup. They sell Vogtland springs on their website, but I don't believe in the Tokico Illumina setup that they are the same springs. If anyone has any evidence to prove me wrong, please let me know how you know they are Vogtland's. Thanks

I've heard it from a few of the vendors that sell both the Tokico Illumina kit and the Vogtland spring set. Also, if you look at the specs for the Vogtland springs for our cars, they specify the same drop as the Tokico Illumina kit does.

CustomMaxima gives the impression that they had those springs custom designed, but that is unlikely since Tokico already had a set of springs that were matched to the Illuminas for our cars; it'd be financially unsound to spend the money on developing a new spring. What is certain is that Tokico had the springs custom manufactured by Vogtland. It would make sense that Vogtland is just using the same design and selling the springs under their own name as well.

If you can possibly spare another $150 or so, you should also get KYB front dustboots from Cattman (www.cattmanperformance.com) and a set of mzmtg's long-travel rear shock mounts (PM mzmtg for details). Those will increase your suspension travel, which is important when you drop the car.
So KYB dustboots dont provide any additional benefits for the rears when using mzmtg's rear mounts? KYB's are $18 each at cattman and are cheaper than OEM (~$21 each).

Dustboots with shorter bumpstops do different things from long-travel rear mounts. Shorter bumpstops will keep your suspension from bottoming out as much, and long-travel shock mounts give you more suspension travel and position the shock pistons farther up, which makes them work better. Whatever you do, you're probably not going to ever bottom out your rear suspension, so it doesn't really matter what dustboots/bumpstops you have.
