How often should I change my spark plug wires?
#1
I bought my 96 Maxima a few months back with 80K miles on it. I made a tune up which replaced the filters and the spark plugs (NGK). I haven't changed the spark plug wires though. Is there a way that I can check if the wires are still good? Or should I change it according to the mileage?
What brand should I go for if I need to replace it? How much do they cost? Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

We dont have spark plug wires. The motor uses ignition-coils that clip to a wiring harness from the ignition system. You will know if the wiring is bad cause the motor will be missfiring, have lots of hesitation and idle like *hit. All you have to change out is the plugs to NGK from Nissan.
If you have this problem its probably due to a burnt-out coil. I had this problem when doin my 60k tune-up. Took me about a week and $200 in new sensors to figure out it was the coil, $70.
