How often should I change my spark plug wires?

I bought my 96 Maxima a few months back with 80K miles on it. I made a tune up which replaced the filters and the spark plugs (NGK). I haven't changed the spark plug wires though. Is there a way that I can check if the wires are still good? Or should I change it according to the mileage?

What brand should I go for if I need to replace it? How much do they cost? Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

We dont have spark plug wires. The motor uses ignition-coils that clip to a wiring harness from the ignition system. You will know if the wiring is bad cause the motor will be missfiring, have lots of hesitation and idle like *hit. All you have to change out is the plugs to NGK from Nissan.
If you have this problem its probably due to a burnt-out coil. I had this problem when doin my 60k tune-up. Took me about a week and $200 in new sensors to figure out it was the coil, $70.

And while we are at it, we also don't have a timing belt, we have a chain.

I think he should take it back, let them do the work and when their finish tell them you want to keep your old wires too then sew the hell out of them

Sew the hell out of them? Why? Is it better if they are all attached to each other with thread?
