Injector question??

Injector question??
The plug that connects to the #2 cylinder fuel injector is broken and will not "clip" into place. It does make a connection, but will just slide off and on without much effort. Since I am getting a sporadic misfire from that cylinder, I thought it would be a good idea to replace the clip…Of course, the stealership wants $125.00 for the part as you can't buy just a clip, but need to buy the entire 3 clip harness for the front bank of injectors...
My question is this… If I get a clip from a junk yard, cut the wires and solder the connection, am I going to screw something up??? This may seem like stupid question, but I'm not an electrician, so I wanted to be sure first.
Thanks guys!

You should be fine doing what you listed. If the plastic connector is broken you can get replacements for auto part store AutoZone, NAPA, PepBoy etc. I have had to do the same on my Z. You can pop the metal connectors out of the plastic part but sometimes it is tricky figuring out how they are kept in.
