I have basic liability w/ uninsured motorist coverage and I pay $54 a month ... it is going to go down in 6 months when my last speeding ticket falls outside of the 3 year search mark they do, so then it will be only $30 a month

"Boom"
Girl 1: What was that?
Girl 2: Do you have insurance on this car?
Girl 1: No!
Eagle Man: I've got something for you.
(chimes)
Girl 1 and 2: Oh look at those low rates.

I can't believe i still remember that commercial, being how old and cheesy it is.

Neways, 24 a lil over 800 a year, college grad and good student at the time i was in school. A accident long time ago but other person's fault but with my old car. A few tickets here and there, but all have been dropped due to court supervision, drving school, or cop never showed up to court.

200 a month for the next 4 years. Got a DUI pulling out of my next door neighbors driveway, to pull into mine on new years. It was crap. I was in my driveway by the time the cop could hit the lights, it was completely rediclous, but I went to school with him (the cop) so he wanted to get me back for kickin his a$$ in 7th grade.

Damn all you people who live outside of British Columbia! Here's what my profile is like:

- 1996 SE stock
- rear-ended someone 4 years ago
- speeding ticket earlier this year

I'm paying $176/mo for $2 million liability and collision comprehensive. My financial planning teacher advised us to get AT LEAST $10 million of liability coverage. yeah right -- Not until the BC gov't allows ICBC competition.

How long does the accident affect your insurance? I rear ended someone about 2 years ago, 3 year mark it comes off and my insurance will get a nice drop. I still only pay $134 a month full coverage anyway with Geico.

Much better than the $5700 I was quoted at for putting the car in my own name!

Actually, the reason mine is higher is because the BC gov't only allows the crown-owned ICBC to offer auto insurance. It's a monopoly.

Insurance is crazy expensive in Ontario...even though the population in Northwestern Ontario is so low, we still pay high prices like they do down in Toronto. Right now I'm under my Dad's name so its less than that, but when I move next year it will shoot up.

I work at my Dad's insurance office. How insurance is calculated is by three factors:
Where you live
What you drive
How you drive(i.e., DMV record)

Live in an urban or suburban area, and expect to pay out the A$$ for insurance. That's why I'm gettin my policy at my school in Carbondale, IL. I'd go from $800 yearly listed as partial operator in the Chi-town area to a little over $900 in C-dale as primary driver.

The choices: pay little with X-men insurance and get stiffed when you do get into an accident, or pay more with good companies ( Allstate, State Farm, etc.) and NEVER get into an accident. Its a catch-22.

My car is under my mom's name even though I paid for the car. My insurance policy cost me $400 evey six months. I've spent more on mods than my insurance and should probably have the mods insured as well.
