i have sawblades and want something new. i've been looking at the 5 spokes or else the 6 spokes from the 5th gens i think. cuz aren't those 16" and 17" respectively? i don't like how the sawblades 'cut' on one side of the car, and then look like the point the other direction on the other side. someone at corporate was trying to save a few pennies! go 5 or something else.

sorry to piggyback, but does anyone know if those tire/rim packages in magazines are any good? i'm sure the tires are pretty shidy but they sell like 17's for as low as $600? just curious.

i like to look of the 5 spoke, but for racing the sawblades are lighter, the 5 spokes are slightly heavier

if you don't care about weight or racing, 5 spoke or 2k+6 spokes, they are 16" and 17" respectively

I have a set of 15" sawblades in excellent condition for sale. Would you be interested in buying them. I am willing to sell them at a very discounted, affordable price.

Thanks but shipping would probably ruin the deal. I could pick them up here locally for around 125-150.

I've had Maxima's with both rims, and while they both look nice, I prefer the 5 spoke.

sawblades get my vote...they look awesome on a lowered car...especially in gunmetal.

I would go with the 5-spokes. Early 5th Gens (like 1st half of 2000) came with 16" rims, that's what are on my wifes 98 GLE. Both 5 Spokes look good.

Sawblades are lighter, therfore better for performance. That decides things for me, but if you want looks, i'd go with an aftermarket BBS rim.

5 Stars are 1" bigger giving less sidewall, the also wider (215 wide vs 205 wide tire) for better handling. You should be able to pick up a set of 5 stars for much less than an aftermarket rim. I paid 300 for a set of 5th gen 16" rims with decent tires.

5-spokes all the way. They look better and the performance difference is only a small diff.

Sawblades look very good on a lowered car IMO. I want to keep my car as stock looking as possible, and that's the way I'm going. Example (not my car):

Looks better on a black car though.

The 5 spokes look much much better. Sawblades look like hubcaps from far away.

I like the way the saws look when the max is dropped, but I'd prefer the 5-spokes anyday.
