Getting a new CAT

I think I may need a new cat. Are those high flow cats any good? I don' want to loose horsepower if I put one on. What are the pros and the cons about getting a high flow cat if not what should I get?

You won't notice any performance gains from a high flow cat...they add 1-2 hp if anything. You won't lose power I'm just saying you wouldn't really gain anything either. However cheapest route to go would likely be to get a high flow cat from budget exhaust...they start at $95 Canadian and go up from there. I'd give them a call

Will the high flow cat make more noise or set off the ses light?

The cat is such a small part of your exhaust system that even if its dimensions are slightly different than the OEM cat you won't notice any difference in sound...and no it won't set off your check engine light. If you have anymore questions let me know

I had a straight pipe instead and when it came time for inspection i just put the cat back on but it wasn't worth it. and i don't see any differences in the high flow cats.
