Changing Key hole.

Hello all, trying to swap my key hole from my 96 trunk to my 97 trunk, having some difficulty, I'm at the point where the key whole is loose but cant be pushed out due to the large white plastic thing on back and cant go in cause of the big head on they key hole. Its not exactly easy to see in there and any help would be greatly aprpeciated.

Thanks.

damn that was quick.

I thought about it, and I'd ask and see how much it is when I'm looking for a place to get it painted but I most likely wouldnt do it.

here are some photos I took, The key lock is almsot out but there is prob one for step needed.

that white piece is still attached on and how can I get that off? I've tried a couple methods but didnt go too far cause I dont want to break it, I'm not sure if I can just resuse the one on my 96 trunk lid so I'm being cautious none the less.

Thanks

So you've got the retainer clip off? The white plug is a b***h I partially broke mine but still works, remove the arm at the yellow pin insert, sorry I can't help much on the plug piece as I saw mine partially broke off so I'm not sure of the proper way, converting to 97.... seems with the hole being in a different location aren't you going to need the 97 arm piece?

I don't know anything about the white piece as I believe that is part of the keyless entry system which I don't have, but you need to take off the metal arm out...just push it up from the yellow clip thing. Once you figure out how to get the white thing off you rotate the lock 45 degrees (clockwise from outside I think, but it could be counter) then it'll come right out.
