99.5 Spark Plug Replacement Interval

My owners manual says to replace plugs at 60K, but the dealer is saying they don't need replacement until 105K. Was the 99.5 different that the 95-99???

There was no difference.

I dont know what the dealer is trying to pull on your but if its the Platinum NGK Plugs, they last for 60K, if its copper then 30K. If you dont know when they last have been chaged, then you can take them out and inspect them.

NGK coppers are effective and cheap (about $2 a plug). wouldnt hurt to change them if they look a bit worn out.

60,000 miles is standard. The Plugs are platinum stock. They can go for over 60,000 miles, you'll have to inspect them to find out what condition they are in.

Thanks guys. I figured. I just bought the car. When I went in to buy them, they asked how many miles I had, I told them 60 and they said they didn't need replacing. Isn't it great to know the people working at the dealer (the parts guy called one of the mechanics to double check) don't know something that simple? So much for "Nissan Certified Technician"

I've never heard of a 99.5 Maxima? When was it built and how does it differ from a 99?
